Miss Charlotte La Bouff by CostumesbyCait Miss Charlotte La Bouff by CostumesbyCait
:iconelizabethbluecatfish: in her latest costume- Charlotte "Lottie" La Bouff from "The Princess and the Frog", made by me her help
This dress was nicknamed the "Frankendress" because of the fact that it was made with about three different patterns as well as some self-drafted ones. It also has maybe around 50 yards of fabric in it- roughly 10 yds. of taffeta and 20 of petticoat net in the petticoat alone. The dress is fully lined, with the bodice made of Casa satin and the skirt made of a heavier taffeta with an organza overlay. The bow is made of a silky solid fabric with home decor weight interfacing.
Gloves, crown, and fan were purchased online and the earrings were found at a thrift store. Jill took care of all the accessories. And yes, that is her real hair. She was able to achieve the huge bun by wrapping her hair around a sponge.

Thanks! Frankendresses are challenging, but definitely fun once you figure out what you're doing.

Even if this wasn't an official meet-and-greet character, I'd still get my picture taken with her. :love:

How big was the hoop underneath? I'm planning a Lottie costume myself and was looking for a way to achieve a fuller skirt.

Sorry for the late reply. I hope it's not too late! To be honest, I'm not really sure. My sister was the one who bought the hoops, but I want to say it was something like a 180 circumference at the bottom.

Thanks! It actually wasn't that hard for her. She was able to sit down easily, but avoided getting up once she did sit down. She was also able to ride all the rides with little to no difficulty with the exception of Space Mountain which she removed the hoopskirt for.

Thank you. It is in the patterns that you will see why this is called the "Frankendress". To save money, we just used patterns that we already had and made some of our own. All were Simplicity
Collar+Sleeve+bow= self-made
Bodice= 2639(front)+ 3723(back)
Skirt= 2813
Overlay= 2941
I hope this answers some questions~
